The Colfax Laundromat has been serving the community of Colfax for over 30 yrs.

Colfax Laundromat is a coin operated self-serve unattended laundromat. We are open daily 6AM-10PM, every day of the year.

The Colfax laundromat was recently renovated. The renovation brought in new state-of-the-art machines. The new machines are now connected to the internet. The transformation brought in all new Dexter brand large capacity washers and dryers. The large washers and dryers allow you to wash and dry large blankets and bedding with ease. A wide variety of machines are available to suit your needs ranging from our largest capacity Dexter 1200 washer down to the Dexter 400, and for those that still prefer the classic top load washers we have those as well with updated technology and efficiency for the best wash experience.

We understand that washing clothes is a necessity, and while at the Colfax laundromat we try to make your experience as easy as possible. Having the right size machines available to wash and dry your largest to your smallest items, we try to make this the most efficient process.

Our machines are all coin operated, and with the addition of the Dexter washers and dryers you now have the option to use Dexter pay. Dexter pay is an app based payment platform that allows you to pay using almost all types of online payment methods. The Dexter app allows you to track your wash and dry activity, and updates your wash dry progress while on the app.

How many machines does Colfax Laundromat have?

We have over 30 washers and dryers, as well as four extra large capacity washers and dryers.

Do you offer any environmentally-friendly laundry options?

Yes, we offer eco-friendly laundry detergents and fabric softeners that are gentle on the environment and on your clothes.

Can I use your machines for large items like rugs and sleeping bags?

Yes, we have machines that can accommodate larger items like rugs and sleeping bags. Please check with our staff for further information.

Dexter pay

Dexter pay is an app that can be downloaded on your phone.

Dexter pay allows for a convenient method of payment for your wash needs.

Dexter pay allows you to track the progress of your wash and dry and time left on the cycle.

Once downloaded you must create an account to continue and link a form of payment, such as credit card.

Dexter pay allows almost any form of payment to be linked to your account.

After downloading Dexter Pay you will need to enter a location # as Dexter Pay can be used at other laundromats with the same system. COLFAX LAUNDROMAT LOCATION #5734

Dexter Pay issues

From time to time there are questions about Dexter pay and customers stating they have been over charged. The Dexter Pay app has some explanation, but perhaps this can be simplified.

Cost of Dexter pay: Dexter pay works similar to a gas station where a small amount is charged on a credit card, and the final charge reflects some time later. Dexter pay will charge a initial payment authorization of $25. This is based on an average cost of washing and drying in one visit. If the amount used is less than $25, the remaining balance will be credited back to your account or form of payment. If your wash and dry exceeds $25, your account will be charged another $25, and again once you have finished any remaining balance will be credited to your account.

Why $25 ?????

Dexter charges the laundromat customer a fee for each transaction, in order to keep this fee to a minimum the standard authorization is set to $25.

Dexter Pay is not working

Several things may cause the app to not work

some of the causes are an internet outage,

dexter pay hasn't been used in a while and must be updated

payment method is invalid or insufficient funds in the account linked to the app

Problems/ Issues

There is occasion where things do not go right, whether the equipment malfunctions, or someone is not happy with the experience, or wants to report an issue.

Just a reminder that the Laundromat is self-serve and unattended and can sometimes be subject to problems left from the previous users. We strive to keep the laundromat as clean as possible, but some things are beyond control.
